Final Details
By car: The event will be signed from the A6 at Whatstandwell (grid ref SK330544), 12 miles north of Derby. From here take the minor road going south west (entrance to parking field is at grid ref SK325531). Car parking fee £1. Please approach from the A6 as the turning into the car park field is too sharp from the other direction. Please contact the organiser in advance if you intend to bring a coach to the event.
By public transport: Train or ‘Transpeak’ bus service to Whatstandwell from Nottingham, Derby, Matlock, Buxton, then 1½ mile walk.
Terrain: Mixed woodland with intricate contour and rock detail. Area used for JK 1991.
Courses go close to sheer cliff faces (the result of former quarrying), some of which are unfenced. Competitors are advised to be vigilant.

For entry-on-day to Regional Event courses, subject to map availability:
Seniors £12 (reduced to £10 for National & East Mids. members of British Orienteering);
Juniors/Students £4;
Family £28 (reduced to £24 for National & East Mids. members of British Orienteering). For colour-coded courses:

The event will use SportIdent electronic punching. If you do not have a SportIdent card, you can hire one when you enter.
Hire fee of 50p for Seniors, free for Juniors.Start times: 1030-1230
Distance to start: 600 metres, zero climb (allow 10 minutes), finish is closer.

Please report to Download even if you retire.
No dogs allowed on courses. Dogs must be kept on a lead in car park.
Whistles will be compulsory; cagoules may be compulsory, depending on conditions on the day.
